Five highlights from Lassonde’s 2024 Sustainability Report
Lassonde’s 2024 Sustainability Report is now available. It highlights the company’s achievements over the past year and outlines its priorities for 2025. Here are five highlights.
Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory
In 2024, Lassonde completed its first Scope 3 emissions inventory to better understand its impact upstream and downstream of its operations. The exercise revealed that the company’s Scope 3 emissions accounted for more than 90% of its total GHG emissions. Thanks to this inventory, Lassonde identified priority areas for action to guide its decarbonization strategy and set realistic reduction targets.

Improvement in lost-time accident and OSHA frequency rates
With the goal of improving its health, safety, and well-being practices, Lassonde continued to conduct external audits at all of its North America plants. Following these audits, priority action plans were implemented, health and safety programs are all being revised, and rigorous monitoring of health and safety training remained a priority. These combined actions contributed to a decrease in the lost-time accident and OSHA frequency rates.

Reducing plastic and improving recyclability
In 2024, the teams launched several projects that had a direct impact on the objective of improving packaging sustainability:
- The size of several labels in the United States has been reduced, and new 200 ml production lines use 44% less polyethylene film, reducing the amount of plastic in circulation.
- In Canada, a change in the adhesive used on certain packaging now makes it easier to separate labels, improving the recycling process.

Reducing the ratio of water withdrawn from food plants in Quebec
The quality and availability of drinking water are global issues that affect several components of the company’s value chain, from the cultivation of raw materials to their processing. Lassonde’s approach is to ensure that the amount of water withdrawn in its direct operations is as low as possible. In 2024, these efforts paid off and the company recorded a 14% reduction in the water withdrawal ratio at its Quebec food plants, already exceeding its 2026 target.

A Code of Conduct for Suppliers
For Lassonde, having a supply chain that reflects its corporate culture, values, and behaviors is essential. Since 2024, all current and new suppliers have been required to review and sign the Supplier Code of Conduct. This code includes specific provisions on forced labor and child labor, among other things.
