Lassonde: a committed corporate citizen
Through its donations and sponsorships program, Lassonde supports initiatives that improve food security and uplift the communities where the company operates. From donating products for events to providing financial support for causes, every action reflects the company’s values.
In 2024, Lassonde continued to fulfill its commitments to food banks and select non-profit organizations. The brands also supported a number of events, causes and initiatives that had a positive impact across North America.
In the fall of 2024, the Lassonde team in Hendersonville, North Carolina, was severely affected by Hurricane Helene. Fortunately, all employees were unharmed, but many suffered devastating material losses. Lassonde employees across North America mobilized to help those affected. Within hours, essential items were on their way, followed by 22 pallets of Lassonde products. All employees were invited to take part in a fundraising event in partnership with the Red Cross, which raised a total of $19,520.
Lassonde contributes to various projects of Moisson Montréal, a food bank serving community organizations on the island of Montreal. For the 2024 holiday season, Lassonde contributed to the 35,000 boxes of foodstuffs that Moisson Montréal will distribute to thousands of people in need. During the summer school break in the summer of 2024, the “Holiday Hunger” campaign presented by Lassonde made it possible to distribute over 400,000 snacks to more than 4,000 children aged 6 to 17 deprived of the support usually offered by the school network.
200,000: that’s how many food packs were donated to school-aged children in the summer of 2024 as part of Food Banks Canada‘s After the Bell program. Lassonde’s SunRype brand renewed its contribution by offering Fruit to Go fruit snacks for each food pack. Lassonde employees participated in the packing day to help prepare the bags, which were distributed to over 200 communities in every province and territory across Canada.
Our Sparta, Michigan plant donates products every week to Feeding America West Michigan, which works with local food banks. In 2024, their product donations contributed to 104,186 meals provided to communities.
Lassonde supports Esplanade Québec, an organization whose mission is to support entrepreneurs who have decided to place social or environmental impact at the heart of their business model. In 2024, two $10,000 scholarships were awarded to entrepreneurs whose innovative ideas have the potential to improve Quebec’s food systems.
The Allen’s team once again gathered in the streets of Toronto to take part in the 23rd edition of Meagan’s Hug in partnership with the Meagan Bebenek Foundation, to raise funds for the fight against pediatric cancer.
Lassonde is a long-standing partner of La Tablée des Chefs, a Quebec-based organization whose mission is to fight food insecurity and develop the food autonomy of young people. In addition to contributing to the organization’s various educational programs, by providing food and financial support, Lassonde produces Bulles Solidaires, a sparkling apple must made in our Rougemont cidery with Quebec apples, part of whose sales profits support the important mission of La Tablée des Chefs.
Lassonde Cherry Hill team organized a food drive for Philabundance, an organization that distributes food to people in need in the New Jersey area. Employees’ enthusiasm and generosity helped collect over 125 pounds of food. Team members also got to work in the community kitchen!
Lassonde joined Cascades for an afternoon of clean-up with Mission 1000 tonnes. On-site crews removed 4,678 lbs of garbage from the edges of a wooded area.
